The self-timed output stage of the card can run at a clock frequency of up to 1.5 kHz. This high-frequency operation is necessary for real-time control applications where timing is critical. For precise position sensing in closed-loop control systems, the inductive transducer driver’s oscillation frequency must be 2.5 kHz ±10%. The maximum load of the VT 5015 S37 IO card is about 30 mA, which is the amount of current the card can supply to external devices.
The signal output voltage is 5 V per output, which is a common level for digital logic and is compatible with many industrial devices. Monitoring and calibration of control signals is possible with measurement sockets for the command value 'w' (0 to 7.6 V, -6 V = +100%, +6 V = -100%, 100 Ω) and actual position 'x' (0 to 6.6 V, ±6 V = ±100 %, 100 Ω).
