Product Description:
The VT 5008S11 is an input/output control card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. Installed in a valve amplifier rack, the board conditions command signals and supplies drive current to proportional solenoid actuators used in hydraulic automation loops. By converting low-level reference voltages into controlled coil current, the card links a PLC or motion controller to hydraulic valve mechanics and maintains precise flow or pressure setpoints in machinery.
The module operates from a supply of 24 VDC, which is internally stabilized to ±9 V for the analog circuitry and command inputs 1–4. A time-lag fuse rated at 2.5 A T protects this supply rail against short-circuit events. The maximum solenoid current is 2.2 A, and the card is matched to coils with a resistance of 10 Ω, allowing it to drive a single proportional valve without external boosters. An onboard oscillator running at 2.5 kHz generates the carrier used by the pulse-width modulator, and the position driver can supply 30 mA to feedback transducers. The card uses a Eurocard footprint measuring 100 × 160 mm. Field wiring is handled through a 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D connector that mates directly with the rack backplane.
Auxiliary electronics such as sensors may draw up to 25 mA from the regulated rail, and the card delivers a monitor output of 5 V that mirrors the modulated drive signal for diagnostic use. Command input channel 5 accepts a differential span of ±10 V, allowing higher-level setpoints for special motion profiles. Five selectable ramp times provide linear acceleration or deceleration curves to reduce hydraulic shock. The relay energizer on the board has a coil resistance of 2,150 Ω. The complete assembly weighs 0.15 kg, helping minimize the load placed on the rack and cabinet supports.
