The VT 5007 S16 is an input-output interface card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. Installed in 19-inch racks alongside proportional valve amplifiers, the board supplies reference signals, switching logic, and safety interlocks that link hydraulic actuators to a PLC or motion controller. By providing conditioned command voltages and relay outputs on a standard backplane connector, the card streamlines the integration of Rexroth proportional valves into industrial automation cells.
The board follows Eurocard dimensions of 100 × 160 mm, enabling insertion into compatible rack guides. The internal electronics operate from a nominal 24 VDC supply that must remain above the 8.5 V enable threshold. Four command inputs accept ±9 V signals, and a fifth channel handles ±10 V signals; all five channels are referenced to a buffered 5 V source on the card. Under full load, the board draws up to 50 VA, a value associated with the drive circuitry and signal generators. A crystal-based oscillator provides a 2.5 kHz ±10% carrier frequency that governs the pulse-width modulation used to drive proportional solenoids. All field and rack connections terminate on a 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D header, allowing the host backplane to route power, inputs, and feedback lines without discrete front wiring.
The proportional output stage can deliver up to 1.8 A ±20% to a valve coil with a nominal resistance of 5.4 Ω, allowing the card to drive directional or pressure-control valves directly. The enable relay coil has a resistance of 2,150 Ω. Precision linear regulators create a feedback rail of ±9 V ±1% that supplies onboard comparators and external command potentiometers. The overall board current peaks at 2 A, so cabinet fusing should be set slightly above the internal 2.5 A time-delay fuse installed on the card. For sensor excitation, the transducer port supports up to 30 mA, accommodating common LVDT or pressure transducers without overloading the regulated supply.
