Installed in valve-amplifier racks, the board converts reference voltages into controlled coil currents so a PLC can actuate hydraulic valves from a central backplane. It occupies one slot in a 32-pin rack and maintains consistent performance in presses, steel mills, and injection-molding lines across demanding duty cycles.
Normal operation requires an operating voltage of 24 VDC, and the card draws less than 2 A; this low input current allows multiple boards to share a single supply rail. Four differential command channels accept ±9 V references for controlling connected valve functions. An internal oscillator operating at 2.5 kHz modulates the drive stage, producing a smooth average current while limiting core heating. The amplifier can deliver up to 2.2 A to each solenoid, providing sufficient output for typical NG6 and NG10 valves. The enable line becomes active once 8.5 V is present, preventing inadvertent energization during low-voltage conditions.
