Product Description:
The VT 5006 S12 is an I/O interface card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. Designed for rack installation within hydraulic motion controllers, the board channels analog commands and switching signals between a central PLC and proportional valve electronics. By converting low-level references into logic-level outputs, it supports closed-loop pressure and flow control on presses, test stands, and material-forming equipment where consistent signal conditioning is required. Its compact Eurocard footprint also conserves space within the equipment rack.
The board follows the Eurocard outline of 100 × 160 mm, allowing direct insertion into standard 19-inch subracks. A 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D connector routes power, commands, and status signals between the host rack and the card. Logic and relay circuits draw from a regulated 24 VDC bus, and overcurrent protection is handled by an onboard 2.5 A time-delay fuse. Four differential analog channels accept command references at ±9 V, while a dedicated high-range channel is rated for ±10 V when higher-amplitude feedback is required. Conditioned signals are returned to the backplane as a logic-level 5 V output. Each channel can source up to 30 mA to two-wire transducers without external excitation.
When the enable line exceeds 8.5 V, the onboard relay energizes. Its 2,150-ohm coil pulls in once 16.8 V is detected and releases at 2.4 V, providing hysteresis against electrical noise. If the enable voltage falls below 6.5 V, all control paths open to ensure a de-energized state. The power stage can drive proportional valves directly because it delivers 2.2 A into a 10-ohm solenoid, matching common Rexroth coil resistances. Relay switching and solenoid drive are coordinated to preserve command integrity during operation. Despite integrating control, relay, and drive functions, the card adds only 0.15 kg to the equipment rack.
