The VT 5006 EU-450 is an input-output driver card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. Installed in a Eurocard rack, the module conditions analog reference signals and energizes hydraulic valve solenoids. In automated machinery, it links low-level PLC commands to the higher-power stages required for proportional flow or pressure control. This arrangement provides a compact interface between digital control logic and electrohydraulic actuators.
The card follows the Eurocard format and measures 100 × 160 mm. Four differential command channels accept reference levels of ±9 V, while a fifth channel accepts up to ±10 V for an auxiliary control loop. Internal regulators also provide stable voltage rails for sensor excitation and signal conditioning. The power section operates from a nominal 24 V DC source and remains functional across an input range of 22 V to 35 V, allowing it to accommodate normal variation in the cabinet supply. For inductive loads, the driver delivers coil current as high as 2.2 A, making it suitable for valve solenoids with 10 Ω resistance. A 2.5 A time-delay fuse protects the output stage from sustained overcurrent. The logic outputs support loads up to 30 mA, allowing them to operate status indicators or interlock relays without external buffers.
Signal timing is controlled by a pulse-width modulator operating at 2.5 kHz, which limits coil heating while keeping switching noise outside the hydraulic control bandwidth. Each driver produces a symmetric switching waveform with an amplitude of 5 V for proportional-solenoid control. Connection to the backplane is provided through a 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D header that mates with standard VT subracks. The relay interface has a 2,150 Ω coil and a response threshold of 16.8 V, allowing it to disconnect pumps or transmit fault signals. Stable internal regulation helps the analog circuits maintain consistent operation when the main supply approaches its lower operating limit.
