The VT 5006-17 is an I/O card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. Installed in a rack-based control cabinet, the board supplies conditioned analog signals and drive current so that proportional hydraulic valves and associated transducers can be integrated into automated machinery. By converting a direct-current supply into regulated outputs and pulse-width-modulated coil drive, the card acts as an interface between a PLC and field devices that require precise current or voltage control.
The card is powered from a nominal input of 24 VDC and operates when the supply remains between the lower limit of 22 V and the upper limit of 35 V. Internally, it generates a balanced reference of ±9 V ±1% and provides a regulated output current of ±25 mA for sensors. The coil driver is clocked by an oscillator running at 2.5 kHz ±10% and provides closed-loop current regulation. Enable logic is recognized when the control line rises above 8.5 V, and it becomes inactive below 6.5 V, permitting consistent start and stop sequences. Inputs 1 through 4 accept a full-scale range of ±9 V. A maximum transducer load of 30 mA prevents overcurrent on the feedback channels. Supply overcurrent protection is provided by a 2.5 A time-delay fuse.
