Product Description:
The VT 5005 S16 is an input/output amplifier card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. Housed on a standardized Eurocard, the board links machine controllers to proportional hydraulic valves by translating low-level command references into controlled solenoid currents. It serves as a compact interface that enables precise pressure or flow regulation in presses, molding equipment, and general automation cells. Onboard relay logic also supports the interlocking functions required to coordinate valve operation with the surrounding machine controls.
The module operates from a nominal field supply of 24 VDC with a +40%/-5% tolerance and is protected by a 2.5 A time-delay fuse that limits fault energy reaching the backplane. Internal conversion limits the overall power draw to <50 VA, which helps maintain an appropriate electrical load within the control cabinet. For valve actuation, the card delivers a peak solenoid current of 1.8 A ±20%. This current works with the specified 5.4 Ω coil to generate the magnetic force required for spool movement. A crystal-controlled oscillator sets the pulse-width modulation frequency at 2.5 kHz ±10%, raising control resolution while keeping switching losses moderate.
Four differential command inputs accept bipolar signals up to ±9 V, and the conditioning stage reproduces them through a regulated output of ±9 V ±1% for downstream comparators. The total board current draw remains <2 A, allowing multiple cards to share a common 24 VDC bus when the supply has adequate capacity. The driver stage supplies up to 30 mA to external feedback loads, while the associated signal amplitude is fixed at 5 V to match typical transducer requirements. The enable circuitry recognizes active logic above 8.5 V and releases below 6.5 V, preventing chatter near the switching threshold. Relay coils have a resistance of 2,150 Ω, close at 16.8 V, and release at 2.4 V, providing repeatable machine interlocks during automatic cycles.
