Product Description:
The VT 5005 S13 is an input-output interface card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. Intended for rack-mounted hydraulic drive assemblies, the board converts low-level command voltages into controlled currents that actuate proportional solenoids while simultaneously providing feedback excitation for position or pressure transducers. By concentrating all signal conditioning on a single Eurocard, machine builders reduce panel wiring and gain a repeatable platform for closed-loop motion or pressure regulation tasks.
The card occupies a 100 × 160 mm Euro-format slot and connects to the backplane through a 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D connector, ensuring repeatable alignment of power, command, and monitor lines. Normal operation requires a supply of 24 VDC, and internal regulation produces ±9 V reference rails for the analog stages. Four primary command channels accept ±9 V setpoints, whereas a fifth channel extends the range to ±10 V for master override. The driver section delivers a 5 V amplitude square wave at 2.5 kHz; this oscillator provides pulse-width modulation that the ramp generator smooths before the signal reaches the load. The shortest transition time between zero and maximum output is 30 ms, preventing hydraulic shock. When energized, the output stage can furnish up to 1.8 A for a solenoid with 5.4 Ω resistance, and it can source 30 mA to excite a bridge-type transducer.
Protection is provided by a 2.5 A T fuse on the incoming rail; the component disconnects the board if excessive current is drawn. Supply excursions are tolerated from the specified lower threshold of 22 V up to 35 V, covering most 24 V industrial buses. The power section sustains controlled decay of the magnetic field during shutdown, maintaining stable hydraulic motion until the stored energy is fully dissipated. Overall mass is only 0.15 kg, so multiple cards can be stacked inside a compact cabinet. The low mass also reduces the mechanical load placed on the rack when several interface cards are installed together.
