The VT 5005 S12 is an input-output conditioning card developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. The board mounts in a modular electronics rack and accepts low-level command signals from a machine controller. It conditions these signals and supplies regulated drive power to proportional hydraulic valves and associated transducers. This arrangement allows the controller to adjust hydraulic flow or pressure accurately during automated machine cycles while receiving the feedback required for closed-loop operation.
The card operates from a supply of 24 VDC, and its internal circuits remain stable across an input range of 22 V to 35 V. Overall load on the cabinet supply is limited by a maximum power dissipation of 50 VA and a peak current draw of 2 A. A replaceable 2.5 A time-delay fuse protects the circuitry against excessive current. Field wiring terminates at a 32-pin DIN 41612 D connector that mates with standard backplane headers in the electronics rack. The first four analog command channels accept differential inputs of ±9 V, while the fifth channel accepts a differential input of ±10 V. A regulated output matching the first four command channels is available for sensor excitation. The card also provides a 5 V driver amplitude for potentiometric feedback devices, and its transducer drive circuit can supply as much as 30 mA without signal distortion.
The power stage can deliver a maximum solenoid current of 1.8 A to valve coils with a nominal resistance of 5.4 Ω. The enable circuit activates the output when the control input reaches 8.5 V, helping prevent unintended valve energization during startup or a low-voltage condition. The embedded carrier operates at 2.5 kHz to support rapid demodulation of LVDT or inductive position-feedback signals while remaining outside the operating bandwidth of the hydraulic system. This feedback processing allows the card to compare commanded and measured valve positions as part of a closed control loop. The available output current and feedback interfaces support compatible proportional directional, pressure, and throttle valves that meet the stated electrical requirements.
