The VT-5005 S10 is an input/output card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 IO Cards series. It installs in a 3U rack and links motion controllers to proportional valve coils, pressure transducers, and feedback sensors. By generating stable reference rails and monitoring return signals, the board allows a PLC to command hydraulic actuators with consistent accuracy while keeping higher-current loops away from delicate logic circuitry.
The board follows the Eurocard format and measures 100 × 160 mm. It slides into a backplane through a 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D connector that carries power, commands, and diagnostic signals. A single 24 VDC rail supplies the onboard regulators and valve drivers. A square-wave generator operating at 2.5 kHz ±10% provides the carrier for pulse-width modulation, allowing the downstream coils to receive a smooth average current. The driver section provides a fixed amplitude of 5 V for the reference and monitoring circuits, allowing linear comparison of command and feedback voltages. Four differential inputs accept ±9 V signals, while a fifth channel accepts ±10 V to accommodate common motion-control outputs. Measurement jacks have an impedance of 100 Ω, allowing signals to be checked without disturbing the loop, and the regulated ±9 V supply maintains deviations within ±1% to preserve calibration.
The solenoid stage can deliver up to 1.8 A ±20% to coils with a resistance of 5.4 Ω, enabling fast spool movement without thermal overload. External analog devices, such as LVDTs or pressure sensors, may draw up to ±25 mA from the card’s excitation outputs. The enable line recognizes logic-high signals above 8.5 V to activate those supplies. Continuous operation is permitted at temperatures up to 50 °C. A time-delay 2.5 A fuse protects the power input if a wiring fault causes excessive current.
