Installed in a hydraulic or motion-control rack, the board serves as an interface that converts low-level command voltages into regulated solenoid power while supplying relay and enable logic for valve actuation. By integrating oscillator generation and current regulation on a single Eurocard, the module allows the host PLC to drive proportional coils with consistent timing and minimal wiring.
The fiberglass-reinforced substrate follows the Eurocard outline of 100 × 160 mm, so it occupies a standard 3U slot. The power rail delivered to the edge connector is nominally 24 VDC, yet the design tolerates excursions down to 22 V and up to 35 V without loss of function. Under worst-case loading, the logic and driver circuits draw a maximum of 2 A. The output is modulated by an internal oscillator operating at 2.5 kHz ±10%, which shapes the pulse width supplied to the output stages. Four differential command channels accept ±9 V references, which are scaled into the pulse stream that feeds a solenoid current of 1.8 A within ±20%. An enable comparator activates the card when the control line rises above 8.5 V and shuts it down when the voltage falls below the 6.5 V threshold.

For fault isolation, the board carries a 2.5 A time-delay fuse that clears sustained overloads while withstanding inrush current from the driver capacitors. The relay coil reaches pull-in at 16.8 V, has a resistance of 2,150 Ω, and releases when the voltage drops to 2.4 V, preventing contact chatter during brownouts. Current passes through a 5.4 Ω solenoid winding, and the coil resistance supports accurate force generation while limiting heat during continuous operation.
