Product Description:
The VT 5004 S22 is an I/O controller card manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. Used in hydraulic motion systems, the board carries a closed-loop control circuit that regulates pilot-stage or main-stage valves from analog command signals. It processes incoming commands and valve-position feedback before sending a controlled signal to the output stage. The resulting coil current moves the valve spool toward the commanded setpoint, supporting accurate pressure or flow regulation in industrial machinery.
The board follows the Eurocard standard and measures 100 × 160 mm, allowing it to mate with a DIN 41612 backplane connector in a standard rack enclosure. Power is supplied at a nominal 24 VDC, while onboard regulation provides an M0 ±9 V reference rail for the internal electronics. The analog PID controller can be adjusted through four onboard potentiometers for proportional, integral, derivative, and ramp settings. These controls permit direct tuning of the hydraulic response without separate programming equipment. A current-regulated, clocked output amplifier supplies controlled coil current to the connected hydraulic valve. The switchable ramp generator shapes acceleration and deceleration, helping reduce abrupt pressure changes when the command signal rises or falls.
The supply circuit continues operating when the input voltage falls to 22 V and accepts an input as high as 35 V. This operating range helps the control circuit remain active during normal variations in the plant power supply. Mechanical installation uses a 19-inch rack, allowing the card to share a chassis with compatible control and monitoring modules. Inductive transducers connected to the differential inputs return valve-position information directly to the control circuit. Adjustable zero offset, gain, ramp time, and dither magnitude support precise matching between the controller and the hydraulic valve. The board is intended for Bosch Rexroth two-stage pressure or flow control systems and connects directly to 2FRE size 10 or 16 proportional valves.
