The VT-5002-25/R5E is an I/O amplifier card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VT-5000 I/O Cards series. Installed in machine-control racks, the board conditions command signals and supplies regulated drive current to proportional hydraulic hardware. It serves as the interface between a programmable controller and a directional valve, shaping motion profiles so cylinders and motors follow precise velocity and position requirements within automated manufacturing lines.
Physically, the board measures 100 × 160 mm, matching standard card cages and allowing dense packing inside control enclosures. A system bus connection is established through a 32-pin DIN 41612 Form D header, so both power and logic lines dock through a single insertion. The unified connector reduces separate point-to-point wiring between the card and rack backplane while preserving a compact installation path for control signals. The output stage is a current-regulated, clocked amplifier that energizes a 4WRE 10 A (Series 1X) proportional valve; clocking minimizes coil heating while closed-loop regulation maintains flow accuracy. Electronics draw from a single 24 VDC supply, and onboard converters generate the controlled actuator current. Two selectable ramp-time channels modulate rise and fall speeds, preventing hydraulic shock during program transitions. LED diagnostics and test points at the card edge simplify setup and service without dismantling the rack.
The card follows the Eurocard format, enabling direct insertion into a 19-inch subrack alongside other Rexroth modules. Internal reference power for analog sections is held at M0 ±9 V, isolating sensor scaling from fluctuations in the main supply. Field adjustment is provided by four trim potentiometers, which allow repeatable tuning of offset, gain, and ramp linearity as hydraulic components age.
