Installed in a control rack, the module conditions low-level command signals and supplies controlled current to proportional valve solenoids used in hydraulic motion axes and presses. By translating a voltage reference into a pulse-width-modulated current stream, the card forms the interface between PLC control voltage levels and the inductive load of the valve coils in industrial automation systems.
The card is powered by a nominal 24 V DC supply, with a permissible range between 22 V and 39 V that corresponds to the +60%/-25% tolerance. Internal circuit rails of ±9 V feed the error amplifiers and support a bias current of 20 mA for the solenoid driver stage. When a proportional valve demands full stroke, the board can supply 800 mA to the coil, provided the external supply is at least 28 V DC.
