Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the VT 3000 S 3X-R5 E for its VT 3000 Analog Amplifiers series. The module is an analog amplifier that scales low-level command voltages into regulated coil current for actuators used in industrial automation assemblies. It plugs into a standard 19-inch rack and accommodates four independent command inputs, allowing one card to support multiple operating modes or axes. By translating reference signals into controlled power on the same board, it removes the need for separate driver stages and simplifies cabinet wiring.

The card is powered from a 24 VDC ±10% bus and draws up to 30 W, which helps keep power-supply sizing straightforward. Signal conditioning begins with a differential input range of 10 V, while an auxiliary ±9 V control input supports external gain and an additional ±6 V port allows offset trimming. The input stage presents at least 500 Ω, so even small PLC output cards can drive it directly. After processing, the power section delivers as much as 800 mA to the load, provided the coil resistance does not exceed 19.5 Ω. Dynamic response is programmable through an onboard ramp generator, with rise or fall times adjustable from 0.03 s for rapid positioning to 5 s for gradual motion.

The front panel spans 8 HP. It carries a replaceable 2.5 A fuse that disconnects the amplifier if a downstream short circuit or thermal overload occurs. Loop current can be measured through dedicated test jacks that follow a calibrated ratio of 1 mV = 1 mA, which allows direct signal verification during operation.
