Product Description:

The VM60/EB-T is an amplifier drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VM Amplifier Drives series. It interfaces with three-phase mains supplies to manage braking energy in motion systems, directing recovered energy into a controlled dissipative path for connected servo axes. Within an automation cabinet, the unit works with auxiliary electronics to monitor link current and report operating status to higher-level controllers. This function is useful in applications with frequent deceleration, reversing motion, or repeated stop-and-go cycles that place regular demand on the braking circuit.

Thermal management is handled by an integrated blower that moves 80 m³/h of air. The fan operates from a dedicated 24 VDC auxiliary supply and draws only 100 mA, which keeps the cooling circuit easy to support from standard control power. The unit uses forced ventilation, so air enters at the blower on the bottom plate and is pushed upward through the heat sink instead of remaining inside the cabinet. Operation is permitted while the surrounding cabinet air remains below +55 °C, and the vertical airflow path helps limit recirculation of warmed exhaust air around nearby modules. Keeping the lower inlet and upper discharge path clear also supports stable airflow through the heat sink during continuous operation.

The energy dissipative stage can absorb a continuous 1000 W of braking power, which suits axes that decelerate heavy loads or cycle frequently. A minimum vertical clearance of 100 mm above the top edge leaves room for heated air to escape without restriction. During nominal operation, the DC link carries up to 60 A, and a floating relay contact output lets the control system verify that ventilation, temperature, and supply conditions are acceptable before motion is enabled. That status signal can be used in machine interlocks, while mechanical installation uses three mounting points for M6 hardware to provide a secure connection to the panel.
