The VM50-C is an amplifier module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and used in the VM Amplifier Drives series. Within an automation cabinet, it conditions incoming electrical power and delivers controlled output for servo-driven motion. The unit works with machine controllers to convert low-level analog or digital references into the power needed for acceleration, speed regulation, and stable axis response. It is suited for material-handling systems and machine tool installations where repeatable motor control is required during continuous operation.

Its cooling assembly moves 80 m³/h of air across the heat sink by using an internal blower rated at 24 V DC and drawing only 100 mA. This arrangement supports heat removal without placing a heavy load on the control supply. High-frequency noise on the incoming line is reduced by a filter rated at 440 V / 25 A, which helps the amplifier operate alongside sensitive control equipment. Power reaches the logic board through a dedicated ribbon cable sized at 2 m, 1.5 mm², and a brief reset pulse can reinitialize the microprocessor during a line disturbance without disconnecting field wiring.

Signal routing for velocity and torque control is separated across multiple cable paths to reduce interference between command and feedback circuits. The Btb drive-enable pair uses a cable sized at 2 m, 0.5 mm², while the motion command bundle uses 3 x 2 m cabling for isolated analog reference channels. Feedback returns through an encoder harness of 3 x 10 m, and a ferrite core measuring Ø28 x 20 mm helps suppress common-mode noise on that line. A matching Fg diagnostic lead carries fault information back to the PLC so the control system can monitor amplifier status during operation.
