The VM310 drive amplifier is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the VM Amplifier Drives series. The module converts plant power into regulated DC and auxiliary low-voltage rails so motion controllers and servo inverters can energize motors, valves, and other actuators in automated machinery. By integrating power conversion and logic supplies in a compact housing, it reduces panel wiring and supports precise current delivery in packaging, conveying, and assembly cells. It is suited to machines that need a centralized supply section for coordinated motion and stable auxiliary power.

For incoming power, the unit accepts a three-phase supply of 3 × 230 V ±10% and draws up to 3 × 6.3 A under nominal load. The rectifier charges a DC link that may rise to 420 V DC, so downstream equipment must use insulation and capacitors appropriate for that bus level. Continuous operation is limited to an apparent power of 2500 VA, while five-second peaks can reach 10000 VA, allowing short bursts of additional torque without thermal overload. The enclosure measures 71 × 271 × 285 mm and weighs 3.0 kg. It also accommodates internal Vcc, Vdd, and Vee rails of 5.1 V, -24 V, and 24 V respectively, and the device operates in non-condensing humidity up to 90% RH.

Control electronics are powered through an external supply of 24 V (6 A), maintaining logic functions even when line power is isolated. The housing carries an ingress rating of IP20, so it provides finger protection and must be installed inside a closed cabinet. With forced ventilation, reliable performance is maintained up to 55 °C ambient. The amplifier can be mounted at elevations reaching 2000 m without adjustment, provided local air density supports adequate cooling. The separate control supply helps status and interface functions remain available during shutdown sequences and service isolation.
