Product Description:
The VEP50.5AQN-2G02E-A3D-NNN-NN-FW is an embedded operator terminal produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VEP Embedded Terminals series. It combines a touch display, computing hardware, and field interfaces in one unit so that machine builders can run visualization and control software directly on the panel without an external PC. Within an automation cell, the device acts as the graphical front end for PLC-based systems, presenting process data and receiving user commands through its integrated 15-inch screen.
The terminal is powered by an Intel Atom N455 that runs at 1.6 GHz and is paired with 2 GB of RAM, giving enough headroom for common HMI runtimes and embedded Windows environments. Graphics are rendered on a TFT panel that provides a native resolution of 1024 × 768, and the active area measures 381 mm (15") diagonally for clear readability of process graphics. When fully loaded, the electronics draw up to 36 W, which stays within the 1.5 A limit of the 24 V input channel and allows panel wiring through standard control-cabinet power supplies. Two RJ45 sockets support Fast Ethernet plus Gigabit operation so that deterministic fieldbus gateways or SCADA uplinks can share bandwidth with other network traffic without an add-on switch. Two USB Type A ports on the rear permit local backups or the connection of barcode readers and service keyboards.
The aluminum front carries a sealed membrane that earns an IP65 rating, protecting the screen and menu keys against dust and low-pressure water jets on the machine face. Internally, the logic board is supplied from a DC 24 V rail and remains functional across a +19 V to +30 V tolerance window to survive brownouts. Network wiring is simplified by a dual-port arrangement of 2 × RJ45, while the overall housing, including the rear heat sink, is classified as IP20 for cabinet interiors. With a width of 407 mm and a height of 370 mm, the panel fits cutouts prepared for standard 15-inch operator stations.
