The VEP50.1CHU-064NN-G3D-064-EC-FW is an embedded operator terminal in the VEP Embedded Terminals series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It combines display, processing, and touch input in one panel so that production lines can present status information and accept commands without requiring a separate industrial PC. Within an automation cell, it serves as the human-machine interface, linking controllers and drives through a single front-mounted screen.

The terminal uses a 15-inch TFT display, giving the user a sizable viewing area that reduces menu nesting. A native resolution of 1024 × 768 px supports detailed process graphics and alarm dialogs without loss of clarity. Touch inputs are processed locally by an NS-Geode 300 MHz CPU, allowing on-screen buttons to respond without noticeable lag. System memory includes 64 MB RAM for running visualization software, while 64 MB of CompactFlash storage holds application files and recipe data. Network integration is handled by 2 × 10/100 Base-T Ethernet ports, so the panel can separate control traffic from plant diagnostics or connect to redundant switches.

The aluminum front carries an IP65 rating, blocking dust and water jets when the panel is mounted into a cabinet door, while the rear electronics enclosure is suitable for standard control-cabinet environments. A regulated 24 VDC supply powers the unit, and an internal short-time UPS keeps it running long enough for an orderly shutdown during brief outages. The preinstalled Windows CE .NET 4.2 operating system provides a stable platform for HMI runtimes and ActiveX-based add-ons. For local point-to-point connections, there is an RS-232 (9-pin D-Sub) port, along with two USB Type A sockets and a 15-pin VGA connector for local peripherals or an external monitor. No fieldbus interface is included, so bus access is handled through the Ethernet channels or the serial link.
