Product Description:
The VEP40.3CEN-256NN-MAD-128-NN-FW terminal is an embedded human-machine interface from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the VEP Embedded Terminals series. Intended for industrial automation panels, it combines processing hardware, solid-state storage, and a color display so operators can monitor machine status, acknowledge alarms, and adjust set points without opening a separate control workstation. The device mounts on the front of an enclosure, placing the display and touch interface at the machine while keeping the electronics integrated in one unit. It exchanges data with the higher-level control system through standard industrial communication links.
At its core, a Celeron 600 MHz processor executes the visualization runtime and local scripts, supported by 256 MB of application memory for active data and by 128 MB of flash for the operating system and stored files. The unit runs Windows CE 4.2, which supports embedded HMI applications that need a compact operating environment and consistent response during routine machine use. Graphics are presented on a 12.1 in TFT panel with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, giving the screen enough area for status views, alarm pages, and navigation buttons. Two CompactFlash sockets allow removable media for backups or file transfer, and a single internal expansion slot accepts option cards such as fieldbus couplers.
The sealed aluminum front has an IP65 rating, so the touch screen can be used in areas where the panel face is exposed to dust or routine washdown cleaning. Control power is supplied at 24 V DC, and the electronics draw 53 W, which helps limit heat buildup inside compact cabinets. One Ethernet TCP/IP port links the terminal to supervisory PLCs, while an RS232 serial interface remains available for legacy devices that still use point-to-point communication. Two USB 2.0 connectors support external keyboards or data sticks, and the removable CompactFlash media supports offline data transfer when network access is not preferred.
