Product Description:
The VEP40.2CEU-128NN-CAD-128-NN-FW is an embedded operator terminal produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VEP Embedded Terminals series. By combining an industrial PC core with an integrated touchscreen, it acts as a local human-machine interface for machines and production cells. It allows process data to be visualized, parameters to be adjusted, and alarms to be acknowledged close to the point of control. The unit supports distributed automation systems where drives, sensors, and supervisory controllers exchange information through standard communication ports.
The terminal presents a 12.1 in TFT panel with a native resolution of 800 x 600 px and can render 262,144 colors for clear status graphics and trend curves. An analog-resistive touch screen allows finger or stylus input. A Intel ULV Celeron 400 MHz processor runs the HMI runtime, while 128 MB of SDRAM handles active variables during operation. Nonvolatile archives are stored on a 128 MB CompactFlash card so recipes and logs remain intact after power is removed. Field devices connect through two USB 1.1 Type-A sockets, and a RS232 9-pin D-Sub port supports legacy PLC links. A 15-pin HD-Sub VGA output allows the interface to be mirrored on an external monitor.
For cabinet mounting, the aluminum bezel seals against the panel cutout to achieve IP65 protection on the front, while the rear PC box remains at IP20 for convection cooling. The front measures 350 × 290 mm, which fits medium-sized control enclosures without special brackets. Power consumption stays within 60 W, and the electronics receive regulated direct current from a 24 VDC supply, which simplifies wiring inside low-voltage control panels. Networked visualization and remote diagnostics are enabled by the onboard RJ45 10/100 Base-T interface, allowing integration with plant Ethernet backbones.
