Product Description:
The VEP30.4EFN-612-NN-A2D-NNN-NN-FW is an HMI panel in the VEP Embedded Terminals series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It combines display electronics, a processor, and field wiring connections so operators can issue commands and read machine status directly on the factory floor. The unit’s role in an automation cell is to present process data graphically and accept input without the need for a separate industrial PC. This arrangement helps keep the operator interface compact while still supporting direct interaction with the controlled machine.
Its front visual interface measures 8.4 in diagonally and is built on a TFT panel that renders images in 262,144 colors. A native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels keeps text and vector objects legible at arm’s length. Machine commands are entered through a touch screen, eliminating physical push buttons and allowing software-based layouts. Electrical supply can vary between 19 and 30 V DC, with a peak inrush of 7 A lasting 6 ms, after which normal draw stabilizes at 1.5 A. Two USB 2.0 receptacles on the housing accommodate data logging devices or service keyboards. During operation, the electronics remain functional from +5 to +45 °C, so enclosure cooling is rarely required on a typical shop floor.
Power demand stays within 36 W, which simplifies sizing of 24 V control power supplies and reduces panel heat. The aluminum bezel carries a combined rating of IP65 front / IP20 overall, allowing washdown exposure on the display face while the rear must be mounted in a protected cabinet. Network connectivity over 10/100 Base-T Ethernet lets the terminal exchange PLC tags and diagnostics without additional gateway hardware. A regulated bus of 24 V DC serves as the reference for internal logic, and stable operation is maintained up to 2000 m above sea level. These electrical and operating limits set the acceptable mounting positions and cable lengths for the terminal.
