Product Description:
The VDP40.3DFN-D2-NN-CG operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VDP IndraControl Panels series. It combines a color display with touch input and membrane keys so that machine builders can present process data and receive commands in one compact unit. In an automation cell, this panel mounts on the cabinet door and provides local visualization and manual override without opening the enclosure. The device serves as a human-machine interface for drives, motion sequences, and diagnostic messages. This arrangement keeps key screens and manual controls available at the machine while the main control hardware remains inside the cabinet.
The front face carries a TFT display measuring 38.1 cm (15") diagonally and operating at a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, so vector graphics, text fields, and numeric readouts remain legible at a normal viewing distance. A palette of 16 million colors supports clear status coding by hue, while the anti-glare overlay allows both touch and key operation without distorting the image. Nominal power is supplied at 24 V DC, and the internal circuitry draws only 35 W, which helps limit heat buildup inside the cabinet. The panel’s anodized aluminum front is rated IP65, so dust and low-pressure water jets do not reach the front-side electronics. One front USB port supports data logging or loading files, and a dedicated CDI link carries screen and input data to the drive-based controller over several meters.
The rear housing carries an IP20 classification, so this section must remain inside a protected cabinet while the sealed front stays exposed to the machine side. During operation, the electronics tolerate vibration up to 1 g and withstand incidental shocks of 15 g, which supports use on machinery with moderate dynamic loading. The unit has a mass of 5.8 kg, giving the panel a solid feel on a cabinet door or swing arm without making installation impractical. This balance helps keep the touchscreen steady during repeated input while the display remains easy to access at the point of use.
