The VDP40.3DFN-D1-NN-CG operator panel is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the VDP IndraControl Panels series. The unit combines a flat-panel display with an integrated keypad so that process data can be shown and manual commands can be entered at the point of use. By linking directly to IndraControl drives and controllers through its CDI serial interface, the panel serves as a human-machine interface for starting, stopping, and monitoring automated sequences on the factory floor. It is intended for cabinet installation and provides clear graphics together with direct key access.

The panel uses a 38.1 cm (15 in.) TFT display, which is large enough to show multiple control windows at the same time. Graphic clarity is supported by a native resolution of 1024 × 768, helping trend graphs, menus, and alarm text remain easy to read at normal viewing distance. The screen supports 16 million colors, so status indicators and machine diagrams can be distinguished by color instead of text alone. Interaction is available through touch and key operation, allowing the screen and hard keys to be used according to the application. The front keypad provides sixteen freely assignable function keys, which helps reduce repeated menu navigation during routine operation.

The electronics operate from a 24 V DC supply, and the internal converters keep logic stable across the allowable input range. Power draw is limited to 35 W, which helps reduce heat inside an enclosure rated at IP20. The aluminum front has IP65 protection, helping resist dust and splashing coolant at the machine face. During operation, the panel withstands vibration up to 1 g and shock up to 15 g. A total weight of 5.8 kg allows the unit to be mounted on standard swing arms, and connection to the control network is made through a single interface cable.
