The VDP40.1BIN-G4-PS-NN panel is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the VDP IndraControl Panels series. It is an operator interface that mounts on a machine enclosure and lets operators or PLC programs relay commands through dedicated keypad inputs instead of a separate computer. In an automation cell, the panel combines local visualization and direct key actuation so the machine sequence can be started, stopped, or adjusted from the installation point on the production floor.
The viewing section is a TFT module with a diagonal of 381 mm (15 in), giving the display ample workspace while keeping cabinet cutouts relatively small. A native resolution of 1024 x 768 px supports standard SCADA graphic objects without scaling, and its palette of 256,000 colors allows clear status coding of alarms, trends, and recipes. A rated backlight life of 35,000 h supports long service intervals before visible dimming occurs. The aluminum front complies with IP65, so water jets and airborne oil do not penetrate the display gasket. The panel has 16 machine function keys arranged under the screen for rapid tactile selection of operating modes, axis jog functions, or soft PLC tasks.
Cabling requirements stay modest because the electronics run from a single 24 V DC supply, and the internal power conditioner limits inrush to a maximum draw of 2 A. The panel has 4 rear USB host connectors for data logging to memory sticks or connection of barcode readers, and each port is monitored for a 500 mA load so peripheral faults do not collapse the system bus. Front panel dimensions of 407 mm width, 370 mm height, and 4 mm thickness, combined with a 68.4 mm mounting depth, let the unit fit shallow doors while still leaving room for wiring bends and airflow behind the chassis.
