The VDP16.2AKN-G4-NN-NN panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the VDP IndraControl Panels series. It functions as a human-machine interface that combines a TFT display with touch input to relay machine status, display process values, and accept commands in industrial automation cells. The panel fits standard cabinet cutouts with a height of 300 mm and a width of 360 mm, providing clear visualization for menus, alarms, and process screens while conserving enclosure space.
The terminal operates from a DC 24 V supply and draws up to 2 A, so power wiring can use common control-voltage circuits. Internal electronics limit demand to a maximum of 24 W, helping manage cabinet heat inside the enclosure. Graphics are shown at an 800 x 600 px resolution with a palette of 256,000 colors, providing enough detail for trend curves, object icons, and alarm tiles. The display has a 304.8 mm TFT (12") screen, which is large enough for multi-window layouts while remaining suitable for compact machines. A G4 25-pin D-Sub interface carries the video signal from the IPC or drive-based controller, and the resistive touch screen replaces membrane keys for direct input. Touch operation also allows use with gloves in production environments.
To support long service intervals, the LED backlight is specified for 50,000 h before brightness falls below the usable threshold. The aluminum front bezel carries a sealing gasket that achieves IP65 protection, blocking dust and low-pressure water jets when the panel is mounted from the front. Behind the door, depth is limited to 64.5 mm, so the display clears subpanels and wire ducts in compact cabinets. The assembly withstands transport shocks up to 15 g and maintains full functionality at altitudes up to 2000 m. It is also suited for the ambient vibration levels expected during continuous plant duty.
