Bosch Rexroth Indramat designs the VCP25.1BVN-003DN-NN-PW operator terminal for the VCP IndraControl Terminals series. As a compact HMI, it provides machine operators with menu-driven access to parameters, diagnostics, and control commands directly on the production floor. The unit combines a color STN LCD with a resistive touchscreen, so the controller, PLC, or drive system can be supervised without a separate PC. Within an automation cell, the panel acts as the user-facing node that gathers inputs and forwards them to higher-level controls.

Processing capability is handled by a 32-bit RISC processor clocked at 74 MHz, a combination that balances deterministic cycle times with low heat generation. Volatile program data resides in 512 KByte Static CMOS RAM, while recipes and application data are stored in 3 MByte Flash memory, making battery-backed storage unnecessary. Screen content is rendered at 320 × 240 pixels across a 90 × 120 mm visible area and displayed on an STN color matrix that supports 256 hues. The backlight is rated for 40,000 hours before brightness falls to half of its initial value, which supports long operating intervals before replacement is needed.

For electrical integration, the terminal accepts a 24 V DC supply and draws only 0.4 A, resulting in a connected load of 10 W that fits common control-cabinet power budgets. The front and rear sections are rated IP65 / IP20, so the display surface resists dust and water spray while the rear electronics are intended for use inside a ventilated enclosure. Data exchange with the controller takes place over DeviceNet, allowing the panel to operate as a node on the same fieldbus as drives and I/O. The touch layer uses an analog 4-wire resistive sheet that responds to 15 g of activation force, which allows operation with gloves. An LCD service life of 100,000 hours helps keep visualization available across long production runs.
