It functions as a panel-mounted human-machine interface that conveys machine status and receives commands within automated production systems. The unit links operators to programmable logic controllers, motion drives, and fieldbus devices, facilitating real-time supervision and parameter adjustment. With a small footprint, it can be mounted in tight electrical enclosures while still delivering the essential visualization and control functions demanded by packaging, assembly, or material-handling equipment.

The terminal’s processing section uses a RISC ARM9 CPU running at 200 MHz to execute the IndraControl runtime environment. Coupled with 3 MB of application memory and 16 MB of flash memory, the device can store user pages, recipes, and language data without external storage. All circuits are powered from a 24 V DC supply that simplifies integration with standard control cabinets. Physical dimensions are fixed at 130 mm width, 96 mm height, and 58 mm depth, so the cutout can be standardized across machine variants. Despite the compact housing, the Ethernet TCP/IP port supports engineering downloads and network diagnostics, while the PROFIBUS DP-Slave connector provides cyclic data exchange with existing fieldbus lines.

Operator feedback is delivered on a TFT panel measuring 8.9 cm (3.5"), whose luminance is sufficient for control rooms and sheltered machine faces. The screen renders 256 colors at a resolution of 480 × 272, allowing clear symbols and trend graphs without taxing the processor. The rear panel includes 2 × USB host sockets for memory sticks or barcode readers used in recipe transfer and user authentication. Total energy draw remains within 4.8 W, so the HMI produces little heat and can share power with low-current I/O modules.
