The VCP08.1BTN-IB-NN-PW is an operator interface unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VCP IndraControl Terminals series. It installs on the front panel of a control cabinet and gives machine operators direct access to programmable logic controller variables, alarms, and status messages. By combining local visualization with tactile keys, the terminal streamlines human-machine interaction in automated cells, packaging lines, and material-handling workstations. This arrangement lets operators review process conditions and acknowledge events directly at the machine.

The terminal stores screen templates, variables, and message tables in 256 kB of application memory, so small process graphics and string libraries can run without an external memory card. Data are shown on a Graphic LC Display that renders monochrome bitmaps across four lines of text. Each line accommodates 4 × 20 chars, and the matrix behind those characters is arranged at 120 × 32 px; this pixel density is adequate for bar graphs, icons, and legible diagnostics in compact layouts. Fourteen front-mounted membrane switches act as dedicated function inputs, while a separate row of 16 LED-backlit keys provides visual confirmation of on-screen selections or machine states. The supply terminals accept 20 to 30 V DC, allowing the unit to share the control bus that also feeds sensors and I/O modules.

For environmental separation, the bezel carries an IP65 rating once the unit is seated in the cutout, whereas the rear housing meets IP20 because it remains inside the enclosure. Continuous operation is intended at the nominal control level of 24 V DC, yet internal regulators tolerate excursions up to the maximum 30 V without display flicker. A mounting depth of 58 mm keeps clearance demands low, and the 199 × 139 mm panel opening matches many standardized door layouts. This helps the terminal fit compact cabinets where rear space is limited.
