It is built around a Z84 microprocessor that runs at 10 MHz, offering predictable cycle times for menu navigation and data polling. Program code and screen templates are stored in 256 kByte Flash, while variable data is maintained in 128 kByte Static CMOS-RAM, so the terminal can hold application logic, message buffers, and user settings without external storage. Network integration is handled through the PROFIBUS-DP fieldbus interface, allowing direct linkage to PLCs and distributed I/O racks for deterministic updates across the plant floor. The combination of onboard processing and local memory supports stable screen handling and regular data exchange during normal machine operation.
