The VAM82.1-USB-NF-TA-TA-VE-MA-NNNN is a handheld machine operator panel produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VAM Machine Operator Panels series. Designed as a human–machine interface for CNC and PLC equipment, it provides push-button, handwheel, and digital I/O access so operators can jog axes, execute start or stop commands, and monitor machine states from the shop floor. The compact enclosure permits tethered use near moving equipment while still connecting back to the control cabinet through a single USB interface.

Electrical and signaling resources on the panel are supplied from a regulated 24 V DC logic rail. At that voltage the controller side can sample 16 bits of digital input status and drive 8 bits of digital output, giving a concise address space for interlocks, light curtains, and annunciators. Protection on the front membrane is rated IP54, so dust infiltration and water splashes do not interfere with key contacts during operation. A 25-pin D-SUB handwheel connector permits incremental feed overrides without rewiring the core fieldbus. Internally, galvanic isolation between inputs and outputs minimizes crosstalk when proximity sensors share the same supply.

Environmental limits define how and where the panel can be installed. Continuous service is specified from 0 °C up to 45 °C, with storage allowed between −20 °C and 60 °C; electronics are conformally coated so condensation is tolerated to a relative humidity of 75 % without functional loss. During transport or line-side mounting the assembly withstands 0.5 G of vibration. The rear housing is protected to IP20, making it suitable for cabinet interiors when the tether is parked. Output devices draw a maximum of 100 mA, while logic consumption remains at a nominal 0.3 A. Even with these resources, the unit weighs only 1.1 kg, easing ergonomic demands on the operator’s wrist.
