Product Description:
The VAM12.1-PB-NF-NN-TB-VD-NN-1608-NN operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the VAM Machine Operator Panels series. As a compact human-machine interface, the unit mounts on the front of a cabinet and brings soft-key, push-button, and hand-wheel signals into the CNC or PLC. It gives machine builders a consolidated point where the operator can adjust feed and spindle overrides, issue cycle commands, and trigger an integrated emergency-off function that supports machine safety requirements in metal-cutting and assembly lines. Its front-mounted layout keeps frequently used controls at the machine door instead of separating them across multiple devices.
Sixteen digital inputs accept dry contacts from limit switches or selector switches, while eight digital outputs return status signals such as cycle complete or alarm to external lamps or relays. The front membrane and metal bezel carry an IP54 rating, so dust deposits and splashed coolant cannot reach the electronics during normal shop operation. Internal electronics are powered by a 24 V DC logic rail supplied from the control cabinet, and the current drawn on this rail does not exceed 0.5 A. This arrangement lets the panel exchange basic machine states and indication signals without requiring separate local interface hardware.
Data exchange with the higher-level controller uses a PROFIBUS DP-Slave interface, eliminating point-to-point wiring for the connected I/O. Thirty short-stroke keys on the faceplate provide tactile feedback for mode, axis, and program selection, while four long-stroke buttons, a feed override knob, and a spindle override knob complete the manual controls. The panel spans 350 mm across the machine fascia, stands 240 mm high, and projects 102 mm into the enclosure, making it suitable for narrow cabinet doors and retrofit installations. Under full backlight, key illumination, and I/O loading, supply consumption remains below 1.7 A, which helps keep panel power demand within the cabinet's low-voltage distribution capacity.
