The VAM12.1-PB-NF-AB-TB-VD-EK-1608-D1 machine control panel is one of the several products of its type from Bosch Rexroth. The device has four long-stroke buttons and nine assembly breakouts for switch elements. The unit is used along with visualization and operator terminals for manual operation of machines. It encompasses a 25-pin connector for connection to a hand-held terminal in the rear.  The rear side of the terminal also has 16 digital 24V inputs and a 6-pin connector to connect a handwheel. The product is intended for use in CNC machines along with PROFIBUS connection. The machine control panel is available with a one-year warranty period.

The machine control panel has two rotary switches for spindle and feed override. Additional actuators and sensors may have to be connected to monitor and control the device. The product must not be installed in extreme temperatures or temperature variations. It has a 1 degree of protection according to DIN EN 50178 specifications. The front panel is made of colorless anodized aluminum with a polyester foil. The device has a maximum current consumption of 1.7A. The emergency stop button has a tightening torque of 0.8Nm. The control panel has an ambient operating temperature range of +5°C to +45°C. The unit is UL Listed and CSA Certified.

The device is equipped with a VAC 30.2 connection module and an Override VD module. The keypad and pushbuttons can be labeled. The keys are arranged as a matrix of five rows and three columns with green LED illumination. The machine control panel has a line code of 12 and a design code of 1. The maintenance-free unit must not be cleaned with solvents, steam jet or compressed air. It is capable of automatically identifying the baud rate at the PROFIBUS DP that supports 10 baud rates.
