Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the VAM10.1-PB-NA-TA-TA-VB-1608-NN machine operator panel within the VAM Machine Operator Panels series. This panel is installed on the front of packaging machines, presses, or assembly stations to present process data and accept commands through pushbuttons and display areas. By linking peripheral sensors and actuators to the drive or PLC, it serves as the primary human-machine interface for setup, jog, status viewing, and routine operating commands. Its front-mounted format allows the operator to keep key controls and machine feedback in one accessible location during normal production.

The panel front has an IP54 protection rating, so it resists dust ingress and water splashes that are common on factory floors. It provides 16 digital inputs for limit switches, light curtains, and other contact devices used by the control system. The output stage can switch up to 0.2 A per channel at 24 V, making it suitable for status lamps or relay coils. The unit also includes 8 digital outputs for controlled field signaling. The housing measures 350 mm in width, 169 mm in height, and 102 mm in overall depth, while the 77 mm installation depth and 318 × 137 mm cutout support panel mounting in cabinet doors or machine fronts without requiring extra adapter hardware.

Communication with the higher-level controller is handled through RS485, and the onboard Profibus interface supports data rates up to 12 Mbaud for cyclic data exchange. Input power is supplied by 24 V DC, and the logic supply draws up to 0.5 A during operation. Reverse-voltage protection is built in to reduce the risk of damage from incorrect wiring at startup or during service. A rear-accessible 3 A fuse protects the output circuits and internal electronics. This arrangement keeps the communication, control power, and protective elements in the same panel assembly, which helps the unit fit cleanly into compact machine enclosures.
