Bosch Rexroth Indramat developed the TVR3.1-W015-03 power supply module for the TVR Power Supply Modules series. The unit supplies the intermediate DC bus for modular drive systems, feeds stored energy back to the mains during braking, and absorbs surges through its integrated bleeder. Within an automation cabinet, it acts as the central energy node, delivering stabilized DC power to servo inverters and returning excess energy in assembly lines, packaging machinery, and material-handling equipment.
The module maintains a bus voltage of 320 VDC, and its converter stage supplies 15 kW of continuous power to the drive group during motoring operation. In regenerative mode, it can channel 10 kW back toward the supply lines, while short acceleration peaks are handled with a DC-bus capability of 45 kW for 0.3 s. Surplus voltage is dissipated by an internal bleeder whose thermal design supports 40 kW of instantaneous power, allowing the system to clamp overvoltage events without external resistors. These power ratings support both acceleration demand and regenerative braking within the intended operating range of the drive group.
For control electronics, the TVR3.1-W015-03 furnishes an auxiliary 24 V rail that can source 11 A, and its internal transformer draws 500 VA to support this low-voltage supply as well as the logic circuitry. Line protection is sized for a maximum fuse of 35 A. When the machine is switched off, the capacitor bank can store up to 60 kWs of energy, giving the drives time to shut down in an orderly fashion. Heat produced under nominal load is limited to a minimum loss of 50 W, with an overall dissipation factor of 20 W/kW that simplifies cabinet cooling calculations. The housing carries an IP10 rating, indicating basic finger protection while relying on the electrical cabinet enclosure for sealing.
