TVR power supply modules are regenerative supply units for modular AC drive systems that rectify a three-phase mains input and generate a regulated DC bus for connected servo and main drive modules.
When motors regenerate during braking, the supply can invert that energy back into the mains, and if mains power is removed it dissipates regenerated energy through an internal bleeder so the DC bus stays within limits. The design includes an internal mains contactor for isolating the drive system and provides the drive electronics with auxiliary control voltages over the signal bus so the system can maintain control functions during brief power disturbances when DC bus energy is available. To support machine safety and controlled stopping strategies, the supply supports defined interlocks/ready signals and can be wired for DC-bus short-circuit braking behavior depending on the application’s motor types and E-stop concept. Installation guidance in the manual emphasizes use of required chokes to limit mains feedback, appropriate protective devices/grounding, and cabinet layout considerations such as clearances and heat dissipation for reliable operation.
