The TVD 1.3-08 is a power supply module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the TVD Power Supply Modules series. As a dedicated DC bus source, it converts incoming three-phase energy into a stabilized internal link that feeds multiple drive controllers in an automation rack. This arrangement lets several axes share one supply section while keeping control power available from the same module. The unit is design version 3 and series 1, and it provides regulated auxiliary rails and dynamic bleeder circuitry so connected drives can decelerate motors without external dump resistors.

The unit establishes the DC link at 320 V and can furnish a continuous bus capacity of 7.5 kW while tolerating momentary surges up to 22.5 kW. For each kilowatt delivered to the bus, thermal losses amount to 14 W/kW. Separate 15 V and 24 V logic rails are supplied to support control electronics within the connected system. The 15 V line supports a steady 2.5 A with only 0.1% ripple, whereas the 24 V line provides 7.5 A and holds ripple to 2%. Incoming demand from the mains does not exceed 300 VA. Basic internal loss is 75 W, and the DC link can continuously dissipate 0.5 kW through the bleeder during regenerative operation.

During fast braking events, power dissipation without the bleeder can climb to 180 W, yet the integral resistor safely absorbs peaks of 20 kW and stores up to 30 kWs of regenerated energy before throttling. Weight is limited to 10.5 kg, allowing cabinet mounting without heavy supports, and the IP10 housing guards against accidental contact in a filtered environment. When regenerated energy remains high for extended periods, the module limits braking demand to protect the DC link. This operating behavior helps prevent overheating during repeated deceleration cycles.
