Product Description:
The Bosch Rexroth Indramat TDA1.3-100-3-A0I is a controller in the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. Designed for industrial machine tools, it governs the rotational behavior of a main spindle by issuing current-controlled drive signals that follow the numerical control program. By managing acceleration, braking, and steady-state speed, it helps achieve repeatable surface finishes and precise material removal. This type of control is important in machining processes where stable spindle response supports accurate cutting conditions during both speed changes and sustained operation.
The unit delivers a continuous effective current of 70 A, with a peak current rating of 100 A for short acceleration bursts. Internal power is taken from a DC link maintained at 300 VDC, so the matching supply must maintain that bus level during operation. Heat is removed by air inside the control cabinet, so the enclosure must provide airflow rather than rely on an external heat sink. Speed reference arrives as an analog signal within a ±10 V window at connector X4 (9-pin IKS 613), and an incremental encoder signal is available on X6 (15-pin IKS 620) to support speed supervision. Under logic supply, the board draws 160 mA from the 15 V test rail and 1.4 A from the 24 V load rail. There is no additional encoder input, so axis feedback is handled through the primary channel. Communication with the CNC host is routed through the 37-pin IKS 610 connector on X2.
The controller weighs 10.5 kg, allowing direct panel installation without extra support hardware. Safe operation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level, after which current derating applies because thinner air reduces cooling effectiveness. Thermal limits begin when the ambient reaches 55 °C, so cabinet ventilation must keep internal conditions below that point. The housing carries an IP10 protection rating, which provides basic protection against accidental contact while leaving dust and liquid exclusion to the surrounding cabinet. Its internal airflow path supports this enclosure style and helps keep semiconductor temperatures within their operating range during normal use.
