Product Description:
The TDA 1.3-050-3-A0I is a main spindle controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. It is designed to regulate the torque and speed of machine-tool spindles by converting analog velocity commands into controlled three-phase output for the drive inverter. Through its incremental encoder output port, the unit can forward spindle position data to higher-level CNC hardware, while the absence of an internal encoder input keeps signal routing simple when the feedback device is connected directly to the drive.
The controller can sustain a continuous phase current of 35 A, and its absolute peak current limit of 50 A sets the short-term overload ceiling during acceleration or thread cutting. A link circuit rated at 300 VDC ties the spindle module to the shared DC bus, allowing energy exchange with other axes. Closed-loop reference signals are accepted as an analog ±10 V differential command, making the unit compatible with standard CNC velocity outputs. Safe thermal operation inside a sealed cabinet is supported by forced air recirculation, and reliable control is maintained across an ambient range of +5 to +45 °C.
When cabinet temperature rises, output capability is gradually reduced, and derating begins once the heat sink reaches +55 °C. The housing carries an IP10 rating, so it must be mounted behind a closed panel. Its 10.5 kg mass keeps handling straightforward during installation. Long-term storage is permissible between −30 to +85 °C, allowing spare units to be kept in non-conditioned warehouses. Supply electronics obtain auxiliary power from a 1.2 A +24 V rail, and internal diagnostics are exercised with a 160 mA ±15 V test current. Operation is approved up to 1,000 m altitude under Humidity Class F conditions without condensation.
