Product Description:
The TDA 1.3-050-3-A00 spindle controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. Designed for industrial machine tools, it accepts velocity or torque references from numerical controls and drives the main spindle motor accordingly. By converting low-level command voltages into regulated three-phase output, the unit maintains consistent spindle performance during heavy cutting and rapid acceleration. As a main spindle drive, it links the inverter stage of a larger Indramat system to the motor windings, providing the high-current pulses that dictate speed and direction.
The power section is supplied from a DC bus that is nominally DC 300 V, allowing the controller to share a common intermediate circuit with other axis drives. Control electronics interpret a reference of Analog ± 10 V from the CNC, converting it into pulse-width-modulated output. Under nominal cooling, the unit can pass a sustained 35 A; transient demands are supported up to 50 A, giving margin for tool engagement spikes. Axial air movement inside the cabinet removes heat, so performance remains stable until the surrounding air reaches 55 °C. The IP10 housing restricts installation to clean, enclosed panels.
Internal supplies draw only 1.2 A from the machine’s 24 V bus and 160 mA from the ±15 V test rails, minimizing load on the control power supply. Cable lugs at the motor output can be tightened to 5 Nm, ensuring low-resistance joints even under vibration. The drive has a mass of 10.5 kg. The unit has no additional encoder or fieldbus ports, so it uses a straightforward analog control layout. Operation is permitted up to 1000 m altitude in humidity class F environments, provided cabinet air is kept clean and the controller remains in its vertical orientation behind the main door.
