Product Description:
The TDA 1.1-100-3-L0S main spindle controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. It is installed in machining centers and turning equipment to supply regulated power to high-speed spindle motors and to relay real-time feedback to the CNC. By converting DC link energy into three-phase drive signals, the device forms the interface between the plant’s power section and the motion control layer.
Rated for a maximum output of 100 A, the controller can deliver a continuous effective current of 70 A without derating. Its intermediate circuit operates on a DC link voltage of 300 V, allowing stable torque production during rapid speed changes. Motion commands reach the unit through a SERCOS fiber-optic interface, while parameterization or diagnostics are handled locally via the RS-232C port. The housing measures 150 mm wide, 390 mm high, and 355 mm deep, and it weighs 10.5 kg, so cabinet space and lifting requirements are moderate. Because the connections are on the top, the specified vertical mounting orientation promotes chimney-type airflow. The design does not provide an additional encoder input; spindle position feedback is therefore expected from external modules.
Control electronics inside the drive draw a logic supply of 1.4 A at 24 V, and the analog sections use 160 mA from ±15 V test sockets, simplifying maintenance checks. The open housing carries a protection rating of IP10, so it must be installed in a closed electrical cabinet that meets the site’s safety guidelines. Thermal limits permit continuous service up to +55 °C, provided the installation altitude does not exceed 1000 m. Within these boundaries, the device synchronizes spindle motion with the master axis, supporting constant surface speed machining and rapid tool changes without additional hardware.
