Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the TDA 1.1-100-3-DP0 main spindle controller within the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. This unit conditions the direct-current bus of a machine-tool drive system and delivers precisely timed three-phase output for high-speed milling or grinding spindles. It accepts a parallel speed reference from the CNC and regulates velocity in real time, allowing coordinated motion with auxiliary axes and accurate surface finishing on automated production lines.
The controller’s power section is sized for a rated output of 100 A, while its thermal design supports a continuous effective current of 70 A during prolonged cutting cycles. A DC link of 300 VDC supplies the inverter, and speed commands arrive through a 16-bit digital parallel port that pairs directly with legacy and modern numerical controls. Cooling air is pulled through the cabinet by air cooling inside the control cabinet, so no external heat sink is required. Support electronics draw 160 mA from the ±15 V test supply, and the onboard 24 V logic rail demands 1.4 A under full diagnostic load. The unit is installed in a vertical orientation, and a dedicated spindle or second-motor feedback socket is provided for high-resolution encoder signals.
Environmental limits protect the drive during plant operation. Rated performance is maintained from +5 to +45 °C, and derating begins only when the heat sink temperature approaches +55 °C. The chassis can be mounted up to 1000 m above sea level without ventilation adjustments, and it withstands storage temperatures from −30 °C to +85 °C. With a mass of 10.5 kg, the controller remains manageable during installation, and its IP10 housing resists accidental finger contact with live parts. There is no supplementary communication interface beyond the listed speed and feedback channels, which keeps wiring straightforward and limits additional connection points.
