The TDA 1.1-100-3-D0S is a main spindle controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. Designed for CNC and automated machining centers, the unit supplies regulated three-phase power to high-speed spindle motors and relays velocity feedback to the drive system. By integrating closed-loop current regulation and digital speed commands, the controller translates motion directives from a higher-level NC into precise spindle acceleration, deceleration, and holding torque suited for continuous industrial duty.
The power section handles a rated output of 100 A while sustaining a continuous effective line current of 70 A, drawing energy from a DC link stabilized at 300 VDC. A blower fed with 220 VAC maintains stable cooling during steady operation. Internally, the logic stage consumes 1.4 A at 24 V and 160 mA from the ±15 V rails for sensing and control circuits. Speed data reach the regulator through a 16-bit parallel command bus, and auxiliary diagnostics are available over an RS-232C serial port. The module does not include an extra encoder socket, so external feedback must be routed through the primary channel.
Mechanical installation is vertical, and the aluminum chassis carries a protection rating of IP10, which is suitable for mounting inside a closed electrical cabinet. Rated ambient conditions span +5 to +45 °C, with derating allowed up to +55 °C, and functional integrity is maintained up to 1000 m altitude. During storage or shipment, the electronics withstand −30 °C to +85 °C. System mass is 10.5 kg, allowing manageable placement on DIN rails or panel studs. A 300 V DC bus link must be isolated before removal to comply with the controller’s low-level test current requirements and to protect the vertical card cage from stress.
