Internal Product Review
The TDA 1.1-100-3-API is a main spindle controller rated for 100 A with a 300 VDC DC link. Vertical mounting and IP10 protection support clean cabinet integration in controlled industrial installations. Spindle/2nd motor feedback and 360,000 inc/rev C-axis resolution make this unit an excellent choice for precise spindle control.

Product Description:
The TDA 1.1-100-3-API is a spindle drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. It is intended for CNC turning, milling, and grinding centers where precise velocity and position control of the main spindle is critical to surface finish and cycle time. By translating motion commands from the machine controller into regulated three-phase power while monitoring encoder feedback, the unit forms the closed-loop interface between numerical control hardware and the rotating work-holding axis.
The power stage is supplied from a direct-current link of 300 VDC. Under full duty, the drive can deliver a rated spindle phase current of 100 A, while a thermal design limit of 70 A applies during continuous operation. Internal logic and I/O circuits draw only 1.4 A from the machine's 24-volt control bus, minimizing auxiliary supply loading. Speed references arrive as an analog ±10-volt signal, and the controller retranslates position data with a C-axis resolution of 360,000 inc/rev, enabling contouring and thread cutting without additional gearing. These values set the operating limits for acceleration, braking, and synchronized spindle positioning.
An auxiliary encoder socket accepts spindle or second motor feedback, and differential line drivers provide an incremental encoder output for downstream devices. The housing carries a protection rating of IP10 and is mounted vertically inside the electrical cabinet; this orientation supports natural convection cooling while keeping power terminals accessible with 5 Nm of connection torque. Total mass is 10.5 kg, which keeps cabinet handling manageable during installation. Functional limits include a maximum ambient temperature of 45 °C, a minimum of 5 °C, and operation up to 1000 m altitude, ensuring consistent performance in standard factory environments.
