Product Description:
The TDA 1.1-050-3-LP0 is a main spindle controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the TDA Main Spindle Controllers series. Industrial machining centers use this unit to regulate high-speed spindle motors, translating drive commands from the motion control layer into precise current output. By integrating power electronics with a real-time fiber-optic command interface, the controller supplies matched torque and speed profiles that maintain spindle stability during cutting, drilling, or grinding cycles. It is intended for spindle applications that need steady speed response while cutting conditions change during operation.
The power section is rated for a continuous effective current of 35 A and can reach a rated peak of 50 A when the spindle load requires rapid acceleration. A stabilized DC link of 300 VDC feeds the inverter stage, while the internal ±15 V rail draws only 160 mA during logic checks. Auxiliary I/O such as contactors or sensors are supported by the 24 V supply, which can deliver 1.2 A. Command data arrive through the SERCOS fiber-optic interface, and a separate encoder input is present for spindle position feedback. The chassis must be mounted vertically so natural convection can move heat along the heat sink.
Thermal performance is sustained up to 45 °C; above this temperature, current derating is required until the absolute ambient ceiling of 55 °C is reached. When the unit is installed within 1,000 m above sea level and provided with at least 80 mm of free space on every side, convection airflow is sufficient for normal heat dissipation. Motor leads can be tightened to the specified torque of 5 Nm, and the metal housing adds only 10.5 kg to the cabinet load. The controller has an IP10 enclosure, which is suitable for clean electrical rooms where dust and moisture are already controlled.
