It supervises motor feedback, reports faults, and maintains thermal limits as the link between supply modules and high-speed spindle motors in automated production cells. This type of controller is used where stable spindle speed and a consistent response to load changes are required during cutting, drilling, and similar operations.
During continuous operation, the controller can deliver 35 A to the spindle, while its peak current reaches 50 A to support acceleration phases. Energy is stored on a shared DC bus at 300 VDC, so the intermediate circuit must match this voltage level. Internal logic circuits draw 160 mA from the ±15 V supply, and the relay stage requires 1.2 A from the 24 V service line. Cooling uses an air-inside-control-cabinet arrangement, so forced ventilation of the rack is necessary. The unit is mounted vertically, weighs 10.5 kg, and has no additional encoder or fieldbus interface, which keeps external wiring limited to power, command, and diagnostic lines. The vertical mounting position also supports upward airflow through the cabinet, which helps remove heat from the controller and nearby modules.
