Product Description

The Bosch Indramat TCM 1.1-08-W0 is a TCM series auxiliary capacitor. It is rated for 8 mF and is designed for storing of energy generated during drive braking. This stored energy can later on be used during drive acceleration. Use of the auxiliary capacitor helps to optimize energy use by minimizing heat loss and energy consumption. The TCM 1.1-08-W0 is available as an accessory from Bosch and is used in conjunction with Indramat power supplies which are part of the AC drive systems and provide power to both the AC drives and the associated motors. A rectifier in the power supplies converts three-phase AC input to DC high voltage which is then used to power the drives. Presence of high voltages and currents on the power supply and associated drives mandates troubleshooting and repair only by trained personnel.

The system’s power supply must be disabled during installation and maintenance to prevent injury and equipment damage. The main disconnect must be used to disconnect power to the entire installation. The DC bus must be allowed to discharge completely prior to beginning any troubleshooting or repair activity. The power must only be turned on after the touch-cover is installed. Approximate weight of the TCM 1.1-08-W0 is 7 kilograms. The IP10 rated enclosure of the module measures 355 x 208 x 100 millimeters. The TCM 1.1-08-W0 is designed by Bosch for convection cooling. For this purpose, an air outlet and an air inlet are provided on the module. Furthermore, Bosch also recommends a minimum clearance of 80 millimeters above and below the installed module to prevent any obstruction to the air flow which will help to cool the TCM 1.1-08-W0 module.
