The Bosch TCM 1.1-08 is an auxiliary capacitor with 8 mF capacitance. It is available from Bosch as an accessory for Indramat power supplies which are used to power motors and drives. Purpose of the TCM 1.1-08 is storage of energy generated during braking which can later be used for acceleration. Heat loss and energy consumption can be minimized if the energy created during braking can be stored in additional capacitance. Shipping weight of the TCM 1.1-08 module is 8 kilograms. Two inlets, one each on the module bottom and module top, are provided to assist with air flow to aid convection cooling of the module. The ambient temperature range which should be maintained during operation is from 5 to 45 degrees Celsius. Maximum permissible ambient temperature is 55 degrees Celsius. The storage and transportation temperature range is -30 to 85 degrees Celsius.

The maximum recommended altitude for installation is 1000 meters. Above 1000 meters the power ratings of the power supplies drops below the rated values. Humidity class for the TCM 1.1-08 is F per DIN 40 040. The protection category of the module enclosure is IP10 per DIN 40 050. AC drive systems from Indramat are composed of two main components which are the power supply and the AC drive. A power supply is capable of providing power to multiple AC drives and converts AC input power to DC output power which is fed to the drives and the motors. Indramat power supplies are equipped with extensive monitoring functions. The DC control voltage output range is 24 to 30 Volts and the continuous load current is 8 Amps. The allowable voltage ripple is 8%.
